Description
Propylene glycol phenyl ether is an environmentally friendly, high-performance solvent (chemical formula: C₉H₁₂O₂) synthesized from the reaction of propylene glycol and phenol ether. It combines the strong solubility of aromatic ethers with the low toxicity of glycols. It is widely used in coatings, inks, cleaners, and personal care products as a safe alternative to traditional solvents such as glycol ethers.
Features
Appearance: Colorless to pale yellow, transparent liquid with a slight aromatic odor.
Solubility: Miscible with water, ethanol, esters, and hydrocarbon solvents, it dissolves resins, oils, and cellulose derivatives.
Volatility: Boiling point of 242°C, low VOC (volatile organic compounds), and compliant with environmental regulations.
High solubility: Excellent solubility for acrylic resins, epoxy resins, nitrocellulose, and other solvents.
